Ceres Zipline Adventures is a business in the extreme adventure activity industry

Indemnity

All guests are obliged to sign an indemnity form that indemnifies the property owners and the activity operator of all and any injuries and or death.

Return and Refunds policy

The provision of goods and services by Ceres Zipline Adventures is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Ceres Zipline Adventures go to every endeavour to rebook/reschedule the service. If that is not possible, it will be considered to refund the client soon as possible.

Cancellation policy
  • 30 days cancellation before arrival 100% refund
  • 29 – 15 days cancellation before arrival 75% refund
  • 14 – 4 days cancellation before arrival 50% refund
  • 3 days-24 hrs cancellation before arrival 0% refund

Customer privacy policy

Ceres Zipline Adventures shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA may be downloaded from:

Payment options accepted

Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, credit cards for online bookings. Bank transfers or cash will only be accepted for direct bookings into the Ceres Zipline Adventures bank account, the details of which will be provided on request

Credit card acquiring and security

Credit card transactions will be acquired for Ceres Zipline Adventures via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Customer details separate from card details

Customer details will be stored by Ceres Zipline Adventures separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction Currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Arrangements
  • When: This service is available all year round. We are open every day, including Public Holidays. South African school holidays and public holidays are considered high season.
  • Where: Our Ceres office in Voortrekker Street.
  • Weather: This service is not weather dependent. "We go, rain or snow!"
  • What to Wear: NO dresses or skirts. Long or short pants. Comfortable flat sole shoes preferably closed. (Sneakers/hiking boots) Elastic band to tie up long hair. If it is raining you’ll be given a 2 piece rain suit to wear at no extra charge. Sunglasses should preferably have a neck strap.
  • Things to Bring: Your camera. Your GoPro/helmet mounted action camera. Should you wish to bring your cell phone along for taking photos, please ensure that you wear pants that have a low leg pocket with a zip or buttons to safely carry your phone. Remember to bring along sunblock in Summer! Dress warmly for our Winters! No selfie sticks.

Guests or Spectators

Please note that the road leading up to the Ziplines is not accessible with your own vehicle.
This is a restricted access road and not a public road.
The Ziplines are located in the Ceres Nature Reserve and public access is only by foot.
Guests not participating are welcome to wait at the office or enjoy refreshments at the coffee shop/deli next door (for your own account)
Spectators are welcome to drive to the entrance (4km from our office), park there and walk up to the Ziplines. The first part of the road is gravel and then it is a tarred road. The complete walk to the starting point is about 2, 5 km uphill and downhill. The spectators would have to go ahead of the departing group as it may take a while for them to walk up to the starting point.

Inclusions and Exclusions

Inclusions
  • Safety briefing, instructions, all equipment and guides.
  • Water during the tour and another water after the tour.

Restrictions
  • Must be physically able to walk at least 150 m unassisted.
  • Pregnant ladies.
  • Persons with spinal and neck problems.
  • Persons that weigh more than 120 kg or that the harness does not fit comfortably.
  • Persons with severe Acrophobia (Fear of Heights). We have had many wonderful cases of people overcoming their fear of heights, due to the patience and professionalism of our guides.
  • People under the influence of drugs or alcohol may NOT participate.
  • Must be physically able to walk at least 150 m unassisted.



Indemnity

Ceres Zipline Adventures CC / Witzenberg Municipality
INDEMNITY/DISCLAIMER/WAIVER

CZA” shall mean and include the following parties: Ceres Zipline Adventures CC and its employees, members, agents and any other form of representative of the aforegoing parties.
WM” shall mean and include the following parties: Witzenberg Municipality its holding company, its subsidiaries, as well as all affiliates, employees, directors, members, agents, shareholders and any other form of representative of the aforegoing parties.
Activity” shall mean the providing by CZA of Zipline tours over the Koekedouw River, which tours shall include the traversing from one platform to the other by means of a Zipline at excessive speeds and at a height of more than 40 meters above and over the Koekedouw River as well as other activities related to the aforesaid.
Property Owners” mean the owners of the land of “WM

1. Whereas the Activity is solely managed and provided by CZA;
And whereas WM sole interest in the Activity and CZA is the fact that CZA has been granted permission by WM to erect on aforesaid area, on WM property on the Northern and southern side of the Koekedouw River, Zipline platforms and anchor points, from where CZA’ clients will slide across the Koekedouw River;
And whereas I acknowledge that I am aware that there are inherent dangers associated with aforesaid areas such as wild animals, unexpected wild fires and/or adverse weather conditions;
And whereas there may be instances where close contact (less than 1,5m) between clients and guides are unavoidable;
And whereas the onus is on the client to inform CZA if their weight is above 120kg in order for CZA to advise if the weight of the client is within acceptable safety standards;
And whereas I acknowledge that I accept the presence of the aforesaid inherent risks and the like thereof and agrees that I am on WM property entirely at my own risk.

2. And whereas Property Owners sole interest in the Activity and CZA is the fact that CZA has been granted permission by Property Owners to erect on aforesaid area, on Property Owner’s property on the Northern and Southern side of the Koekedouw River, Zipline platforms and anchor points, from where CZA’s clients will slide across the Dwars River;
And whereas I acknowledge that I am aware that there are inherent dangers associated with aforesaid areas such as, natural danger, unexpected wild fires and/or adverse weather conditions;
And whereas I acknowledge that I accept the presence of the aforesaid inherent risks and the like thereof and agrees that I am on the property entirely at my own risk.

3. Whereas I further acknowledge that I am aware of and appreciate the real dangers and risks that are associated with the Activity arising inter alia from the fact that I will hang suspended in a harness on a cable and pulley and other safety equipment a considerable height above the ground and where falling is an inherent danger if procedures are not strictly adhered to, as well as the presence of dangers in nature and the real risk of suffering bodily harm, injury and even death;
And whereas the presence of the dangers associated with aforesaid areas and the Activity:
has been explained to me and I’m satisfied that I have been informed to my satisfaction with regards the dangers; or
has not been explained to me but I was given the opportunity to ask questions with regards the dangers and I’m satisfied that I have been informed to my satisfaction with regards the dangers; or
I have received the indemnity in advance; I have taken note of the mentioned dangers and will ask questions with regards the dangers upon my arrival at the Activity;
And whereas I accept and acknowledge the presence of the aforesaid and that I participate in the Activity entirely at my own risk;

4. Now therefore I indemnify the Property Owners and CZA against any and all claims of whatsoever cause and nature, howsoever arising, which: I might have against the Property Owners and CZA arising out of any damage, expense, harm, injury (including personal injury), illness, death, loss suffered (including loss of support) or consequential loss or damages of whatsoever nature, I suffered whilst participating in, or performing an act related to (whether directly or indirectly) the Activity or due to my presence on the Property Owners property and whether arising from any act of commission or omission and/or negligence on the part of the Property Owners and/ or CZA.
And may be made by my spouse, children, any other dependent of mine, my heirs, any person acting of behalf of me or my estate, and/or any other person generally associated with me, as a result of me sustaining any damage, expense, harm, injury, illness, death, loss or consequential loss or damages of whatsoever nature, arising from me participating in, or performing an act related to (whether directly or indirectly) the Activity or due to my presence on the Property Owners property and whether arising from any act of commission or omission and/or negligence on the part of the Property Owners and/or CZA.

5. I confirm that I waive any and all claims of whatsoever cause and nature, howsoever arising, which I might have against the Property Owners, and / or CZA, arising out of any damage, expense, harm, injury (including personal injury), illness, death, loss suffered (including loss of support) or consequential loss or damages of whatsoever nature, I suffered whilst participating in, or performing an act related to (whether directly or indirectly) the Activity or due to my presence on the Property Owners property and whether arising from any act of commission or omission and/or negligence on the part of the Property Owners and /or CZA.

6. Any claims against and by the Property Owners and/ or CZA be they in contract, delict or otherwise instituted against or by the Property Owners and/ or CZA in respect of this indemnity, shall be governed by the law of South Africa and may only be instituted in a South African Court to the exclusion of all other jurisdictions.

7. In the event that any of the terms of this Agreement are found to be invalid unlawful or are unenforceable, such term(s) will be severable from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.

8. The Property Owners and / or CZA may at its discretion and without prejudice or without admission of liability arrange and pay for emergency medical treatment, for and on behalf of me or any person generally associated with me. I acknowledge that I will be directly responsible to reimburse the Property Owners and / or CZA for these expenses.
